Water Project at Chey SchoolCAMBODIA
Well financing the construction of Chey Library we were made aware of the desperate water situation at adjoining Chey School. As WaterBridge Outreach encompasses both books + water projects, we eagerly agreed to partner with PLF on a much needed water project which would bring our work in the Chey community full circle. This water project included the construction of hand washing stations and providing students with clean drinking water. | Chey LibraryCAMBODIA
The construction and outfitting of Chey Library in Cambodia is our fourth literacy project with Ponheary Ly Foundation . Chey Library is unique in that it will focus entirely on secondary school students, and completes PLF's 12 year journey in providing carefully curated book selections and resources for over 2,800 students of all grade levels in four marginalized communities. | Knar Community LibraryCAMBODIA
This library ended up being completely different from anything PLF had done previously. While it still serves older students, the library has drawn in a totally unexpected group hungry for books and literacy. By listening closely to this "new market" (composed of mostly young mothers and grandmas: literate but not well educated) theand grandmas: literate but not well educated) the library space has been transformed into something completely unexpected and truly wonderful!! |
